Girl Geeks
In searching the internet for something interesting to post about I stumbled upon a website called Girl Geeks. This website encourages girls to find jobs in technology and much more. It has tips for women in the work place, opportunities to get a degree in computer science, and features a women each week who is voted as "girl geek of the week." Having website like this can allow for women to have the resource to get into something that can be a life long career. It also encourages women to excel in certain things that are usually associated with men. One of the women featured as "girl geek of the week" is Isca Greenfield-Sanders, who is a visual artist and uses technology to create her works of art. She takes already existing photographs and uses other mediums like photoshop, oil pastels, watercolors, and printing to enhance the image she has obtained. By creating this new art form Isca has created something entirely new and innovative and proving that women can create something beautiful from anything and can compete with many other acclaimed artists.
